LAHORE, Dec 22: Tens of thousands of people, including women and children, thronged the All about lifestyles 2002 exhibition which concluded here on Sunday night.

The two-day exhibition was organized at Avari by the Dawn Group of Newspapers. It was a series of three shows. The first exhibition was held in Islamabad on Dec 14 which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali. The last show will be held in Karachi from Dec 28 to 30.

According to an estimate, around 55,000 people visited the exhibition on Sunday. The organizers had to restrict entry in the evening, allowing only families to enter the crowded place. Over 21,000 people had turned up on Saturday.

The organizers had to run a shuttle transport service for visitors who had to park their vehicles at a distance from the hotel because of the lack of space even at the adjacent roads.

Over 100 reputed national and multi-national companies displayed their products like microwave ovens, electronics, mobile phones, computers, automobiles, ceramics and shoes.

The major attraction was the food court, art gallery and stalls of different consumer products. People tasted traditional Lahore food amidst a round of different stalls.

Children and youth thronged the Young World and computer gaming pavilions. Kids enjoyed the jumping castles for hours, got their faces painted from NCA students and made sketches. All these attractions were provided free of cost.

There were discounts by the participating companies. Nadra too had set up a stall where people got themselves registered for getting national identity cards which would be delivered to them in two weeks.

Coloured floodlights added to the beauty of the exhibition in the evening where hot air balloon was another major attraction for children.
