Seven German soldiers killed

KABUL, Dec 21: A military helicopter serving with a multinational peacekeeping force in Kabul crashed on Saturday, killing its entire crew of up to seven German soldiers, officials said.

Kabul’s security chief said two children who were playing near the crash site were also killed, although ISAF officials said there was no evidence of any casualties on the ground.

The exact toll was not expected to be released until Sunday after investigations were concluded. However, some sources said at least 14 people, including seven on the ground, had died in the crash.—AFP
