ISLAMABAD, Dec 20: The judges of the federal capital district courts have been directed not to use blue light, green number plate and logo of judiciary on their private vehicles.
In a circular issued here, District and Sessions Judge Chaudhary Asad Raza asked the judicial officers to implement the Lahore High Court’s order in this regard.
PTV SCANDAL: Two prosecution witnesses in a famous PTV pornographic scandal, PTV general manager Mustafa Mandokhel and Qayyum Mughal, recorded their statements in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Sanaullah Malik on Friday.
All the three accused — Kinza, Attaullah and Fariduddin — were present in the court. The accused were charged with taking nude pictures of an actress, Bushra.
Mr Mughal, responding to a cross examination by defence counsel Saba Mohiuddin Advocate, said Ms Bushra used to visit the PTV centre to get a role in dramas. He claimed that her nude pictures were given to him by Mustafa Mandokhel for keeping these in his safe custody.
Mr Mandokhel said the relations between Bushra and Kinza were strained those days and after seeing her pictures, Bushra called them fake.
The hearing was then adjourned till January 3.
IMPRISONMENT: Judicial Magistrate Chaudhary Mumtaz Hussain awarded one-year rigorous imprisonment to a convict, Nazir Ahmed, in a theft-case on Friday.
The convict was arrested by Aabpara police.
The same court sent two accused, Shah Mohammad and Abdul Khaliq, involved in the kidnapping of an Afghan girl from the jurisdiction of Golra Police Station, to Adiala jail on judicial remand.
The court sent the victim to Darul Aman.
DISTRICT COURTS’ PERFORMANCE: The district courts of the federal capital have disposed of 1,274 cases during November, against 977 cases disposed of during the corresponding period last year.
The cases disposed of last month included 485 civil cases, 58 rent cases, 33 issuance of decree and 23 guardianship cases, sour. The family courts decided 105 cases during the month.
The sources said the two criminal courts had dispose of 68 the cases of section 30, PPC and 110 other cases.
They said the district and sessions courts had disposed of five murder cases, seven Hudood cases, and 392 other cases during the last November.
The sources added that, at present, 6,500 cases were being proceeded in the criminal courts, out of which 84 were murder cases and 83 of Hudood. Similarly, 1,379 cases were under process in civil courts.
