Transporter shot dead by robbers

SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 19: A transporter was shot dead by robbers on Khanqah Dogran-Sukhaki Road, some 36 kilometres away from here, on Thursday.

Imran, 20, was coming to Sheikhupura from Pindi Bhattian in his truck with his two friends early on Thursday morning. Four armed men intercepted the truck near Chappanwali bus stop and attempted to loot the transporter and his friends.

Imran put up resistance and the robbers shot him dead. His friends escaped unhurt.

It was learnt that before killing the transporter, the robbers looted four other people.

MURDERED: Two men were gunned down by their rivals near Kala Shah Kaku bypass on Thursday.

According to reports reaching here, landlord Rana Fayyaz Patwari of Kot Pindi Das was going to his farm in Kala Shah Kaku in a jeep with three men.

Some unidentified men intercepted the jeep near the bypass and opened fire. As a result, Rana Fayyaz and his driver Ilyas were injured. They succumbed to their injuries at the Mayo Hospital in Lahore.

Factory Area police did not register a case. They said that Fayyaz might have been killed by his rivals.
