MONTREAL, Dec 19: Canada on Wednesday expressed strong opposition to the US plan to start deploying a missile shield from 2004.

Foreign Minister Bill Graham said it would be a “bad mistake” which could lead to long term problems.

“The big red line we all have is the weaponisation of outer space, which I believe would be immoral, illegal and a bad mistake,” Graham said in an interview with the Globe and Mail on Wednesday.—AFP
