AFC names banned Pakistan players, manager

LAHORE, Dec 18: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Wednesday officially intimated Pakistan about fine and ban for fielding over-age players in an Under-17 tournament earlier this year.

AFC had banned the team manager and eight players for two years, while the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) had been fined $10,000 for sending over-age players for Under-17 Asian championship in the UAE.

PFF received the official letter from the AFC Wednes-day about the Dec 11 decision.

Malik Abdul Aziz, also the secretary of the Punjab Football Association, was the manager of the team.

Pakistan will not be able to take part in the next U-17 event in 2004 after the fine.

The players banned by the AFC are, Faisal Ashraf, Abdul Samad, Imran Husain, Ramzan Ali, Mohammad Kashif, Javed Hamza, Nadeem Masih and Mohammad Imran.
