By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, Dec 18: Pakistan has been allotted Junior World Cup qualifying round and the 2004 Junior Asia Cup at the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Congress in Kuala Lumpur Wednesday.

Meanwhile, King of Malaysia Sultan Azlan Shah has been retained as the president of the AHF, while P. Alagendra as secretary general.

Pakistan Hockey Federation secretary Brig Musarrat Ullah Khan has been elected one of the six vice-presidents in the 21 members Council by securing 40 out of 42 votes.

President of the PHF women cell Barrister Shahida Jamil was elected member of the AHF council for the next four-year term.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Greens’ Tariq Imran and Kashif Jawwad got injured Wednesday, only two days before three-team domestic league starting from Dec 20.

Apart from Pakistan Seniors, named Greens for the series, Whites and Juniors will participate in the competition here at the National Hockey Stadium.

Both Tariq and Kashif received two stitches each as they were struck on forehead by hockey sticks during the afternoon session.

However, coach Shahnaz Sheikh said injuries were not serious and hoped the players would take part in the forthcoming event.
