Station master, PR cop kidnapped

JACOBABAD, Dec 18: A gang of armed men kidnapped the station master, Imam Bux Heesbani, and the railways police constable, Basheer Ahmed Soomro, from the Bukhshapur Railway Station late Tuesday night.

BOY INJURED: A photographer’s shop caught fire in the Shah Bhittai Bazaar and a boy was injured when he fell down the stairs while trying to escape the fire on Tuesday night.

A fire brigade extinguished the fire after three hours.

ANTI-POLIO CAMPAIGN: Syed Shafi Mohammad Shah, chief of the anti-polio campaign, has said that awareness against polio should be created among the masses so that the disease could be eradicated.

He said this while talking to newsmen at the press club on Wednesday.

He said that if polio was not rooted out completely from Pakistan, there would be a ban on Pakistanis seeking migration to other countries if they tested positive against polio.

He said that there were 1,046 teams working in Jacobabad to administer polio drops in both urban and rural areas.

He was accompanied by the API (Sindh) director, Niaz Solangi, the district health officer, and several doctors.

RECOVERED: The police recovered two tractors after an encounter with robbers in the limits of the Rasaldar police station, Jacobabad, on Monday.

The robbers had snatched two tractors a month back. The police with the help of sniffer dogs were able to trace the criminals.

After an exchange of fire, the robbers fled leaving behind the tractors.

MAN HELD: Police arrested a man, Mohammad Hassan Lashari, who was allegedly involved in a murder case.
