Former minister convicted

QUETTA, Dec 17: The Accountability Court, Quetta, headed by special Judge Mohammad Anwar Kasi, convicted former Minister Bismillah Khan Kakar in a corruption case and awarded him one year rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs2 million.

The court announced the judgement here on Tuesday. According to judgement the convict would have to undergo additional four months’ rigorous imprisonment in case of non-payment of the fine money.

Kakar was present in the court when the judgement was announced.

The Regional Accountability Bureau had filed a reference against Bismillah Khan Kakar for appointing a large number of people in the Water and Sanitation Authority Balochistan as provincial Minister against the rules and regulations.
