Villagers nab dacoit

TOBA TEK SINGH, Dec 17: Residents overpowered a dacoit after exchange of fire in a Gojra village on Tuesday.

Four dacoits forced their entry into the house of farmer Muhammad Naeem in Chak No 423 JB near Gojra early on Tuesday morning. They held up all family members and started collecting valuables.

Neighbours gathered outside the house after hearing the alarm raised by the family. The villagers retaliated when the dacoits opened fire. They overpowered one of the dacoits who was injured in the crossfire. He was later identified as Muhammad Kaleem, a resident of Mauza Mochiwala, Jhang district.

The dacoit was later handed over to Gojra Saddar police.

MINORS KILLED: Two children died in as many incidents in Pirmahal area on Tuesday.

The two-year-old son of Zahoor Husain Kharal was playing in the courtyard of his house in Sindhilianwali when he fell into the gutter and drowned.

In another incident, a mentally-retarded woman killed her one-month-old daughter in Mauza Nasir Nagar.

The infant was crying when Bashiran Bibi allegedly threw her on the ground. — Correspondent
