SUKKUR, Dec 17: Tension prevails in Andal Sundrani area of Ghotki district after three men were injured and another was kidnapped in two attacks on the Buddha Chachar village by armed men, believed to be belonging to the Sundrani tribe.

The injured — Nasrullah Chachar, Laiq Chachar and Haji Sabir Chachar — were brought to the Ghotki Civil Hospital, where around 50 Chachar tribesmen gathered and raised slogans of revenge.

No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.

The police said that there was a fault in the telecommunication system between Ghotki and Andal Sundrani police stations, therefore, they could not say any thing about the incident.

Abdul Salam Chachar, who reached Ghotki with the injuries, told journalists that about 20 armed Sundrani tribesmen attacked the Buddha Chachar village and took away some 20 cattleheads.

He said that when the villagers chased the attackers, they opened fire, injuring three men.

According to Salam, they again attacked the village and kidnapped three men, Fareed, Yaseen and Ahmed. Later, he added, they released Ahmed and Freed but took Yaseen away with them.

The tension has mounted in the area between Chachar and Sundrani tribes as both groups have taken positions against each other.
