Students, teachers end boycott


RAWALPINDI, Dec 15: Students and teachers of educational institutions of the Punjab government have ended their protests and boycott of classes after the chief minister constituted a committee to look into their grievances.

Schoolteachers, senior professors as well as students had been protesting for the last several months against the formation of a board of governors.

“We have ended our boycott of classes for the time being after the Punjab chief minister, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, stopped the formation of the BoG till the final report is prepared by the committee, the secretary-general of Schools-Colleges Teachers Alliance, Imtiaz Abbasi, said.—Our Staff Reporter
