HYDERABAD, Dec 15: The farmers of Bhrind Mari deh, Mehar taluka, Dadu district, have appealed the authorities concerned to take action against people for occupying their land and taking away their harvested crop.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Sunday, Din Mohammad, Mushtaq Ahmad and Mukhtiar Ahmad, said Imam Ali, Nooral and Ali Anwar, all Bhurt by caste, had occupied their 164 acres.

They said this group was supported by the bandits, Abdul Hakeem, Mumtaz and Haroon.

They said the accused had also taken away 1,500 maunds of cotton, 50 maunds of millet, 30 maunds of corn, a 25 horsepower machine and 40 bags of fertilizer.

They appealed to authorities concerned to restore the possession of their land and the crop.

They also appealed for protection.

DEMO: A group of villagers and haris of Korey-jo-Bhan goth staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Sunday against the alleged tyranny of landlord Imam Ali Bhurt of the Naushahro Feroze district.

They carried placards inscribed with slogans against the landlord.

Talking to newsmen, Niaz Hussain Solangi and others alleged the landlord had taken over the possession of 5,000 acres of state land in Naushahro Feroze, Bhirya, Kandiaro, Dadu and Khairpur.

They said the landlord was now trying to take over the possession of their village lands.

They said Bhurt was supported by a gang of Haroon.

They demanded of the authorities concerned to take legal action against Bhurt and arrest Haroon.
