2 Lashkar men gunned down, claims India

NEW DELHI, Dec 14: A red alert was declared in New Delhi on Saturday after police gunned down two suspected armed Pakistanis at a roadblock on the outskirts of the Indian capital, a police officer said.

A third person escaped and was being hunted by security forces, he told AFP.

The incident occurred in the Tughlakabad area, the officer said. The three rebels were travelling by car towards New Delhi from Faridabad when they were stopped at a police check post.

“On being stopped at our check-point the militants fled,” police officer Neeraj Kumar told the Star News channel. “We chased them and two were killed. We believe they are Pakistani nationals,” he said.—AFP
