KESC into semifinal


KARACHI, Dec 14: Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) and Dewan Sugar registered their berth for the semifinals of Beautiful Karachi Festival cricket tournament.

The KESC which remained unbeaten and emerged group “A” leaders beat Dewan Sugar by seven wickets at UBL Sports Complex on Friday.

The Dewan Sugar, the runners-up in the same group also moved into the semifinal.

Batting first, Dewan Sugar were all out for 102 in 20.3 overs. Afsar Nawaz 24 and Abdul Hafeez 21 were the major run scorers. Asif Ghori (4-22) and Jaffar Qureshi (3-25) share the wickets.

KESC did not face any problem in reaching the target 12.2 overs with M. Farooq (42) and Agha Sabir (38) batting well.
