Robbers have a field day
FAISALABAD, Dec 14: Unidentified bandits made off with thousands of rupees in cash, ornaments and hijacked five motorcycles and a car in eight different strikes in the city and its rural areas during the last 24 hours.
Three highwaymen injured seriously a villager, Muhammad Yousaf, for putting up resistance during a robbery in Chak 59-GB, Jaranwala. The bandits fled after snatching his two-wheeler.
Armed dacoits looted thousands of rupees in cash, ornaments and other valuables from the house of shopkeeper Riasat Ali in Dhuddiwala in the limits of Saddar police station.
Thieves took away ornaments worth thousands of rupees and electric appliances from Gulzar’s house in the absence of inmates.
Two masked highwaymen snatched a two-wheeler (FDS-1797) at pistol point from Zahid Rasheed in Madina Town.
Three bandits snatched a motorcycle (FDW-6320) from a cloth merchant, Muhammad Asif, in Factory Area.

NOTICES: The Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) on Saturday issued disconnection notices to over 800 domestic, industrial and commercial consumers for their failure to pay the dues.
On the instructions of the provincial government, the Wasa accelerated the pace of recovery of dues and issued notices to its defaulters. A good number of consumers of water supply and drainage had deposited their dues.
A Wasa spokesman said that lists of defaulters had been provided to special teams headed by revenue officers and special magistrates so that the legal action could be taken against them. — Staff Correspondent
