SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 14: A PPP activist was gunned down by three of his rivals in Farooqabad on Saturday.

Mian Asmat Ullah, senior vice-president of party’s Farooqabad chapter, was returning home after offering Fajr prayers.

The accused were identified as Arshad, Shahzad, Afzal, and Rehmat.

A brother of Mr Asmat told this reporter that a son of the deceased had been murdered by the accused some time ago. The deceased was pursuing the case in the court and had rejected the offer of the accused for an out-of-court settlement.

The Farooqabad city police have registered a case against the accused.
