Shahzad outplays Rehman

LAHORE, Dec 10: Top seed and defending champion Shahzad Khan faced no difficulty in outplaying unseeded Ibad ur Rehman in the opening match of the sixth Haleeb All Pakistan Junior Ranking tennis tournament boys’ singles Under-18 event at the Punjab Coaching Centre, Bagh-i-Jinnah Tuesday.

Shahzad from Faisalabad did not drop any point before beating Rehman in an one sided match 6-0, 6-0.

In all ten matches were held in the boys’ singles Under-18, two in the boys’s Under-14 and one in the boys’ U-12. The girls competition will begin from Wednesday.

Results:

Boys’ singles U-18: Shahzad Khan bt Ibadur Rehman 6-0, 6-0; Zeeshan Khan bt Ali Sheikh 6-0, 6-3; Suleman Bashir bt Salman Aslam 6-0, 6-0; Ahmad Aslam bt Fahad Ali 6-2, 6-3; Omer Babar bt Omer Latif 6-1, 6-0; Imran Rasool bt Sohail Feroze 6-2, 6-2; Abdullah Sheikh bt Nasirul Haq 6-1, 6-1; Munir Ashiq bt Mustafa 6-2, 6-1; Munir bt Talal Khan 6-2, 6-0. Pitras Masih got walk over against Janisar Ahmad.

Boys’s singles U-14: Shahid Ali bt Ali Malik 6-0, 6-0; Azam Javed bt Muhammad Omer 6- 3, 6-1.

Boys’ singles U-12: Usman bt Ahmad Babar 6-1, 6-2.
