Bach View tipped to record hat trick

By Aftab Gilani

LAHORE, Dec 10: Bach View, a four-year-old bay colt, owned by S. M. Naeem, seems to be the day’s best when the midweek Lahore Gymkhana meeting gets under way at the Lahore Race course Wednesday.

A halfbred colt from Blue View out-of-Dam by Bach Tender, Bach View, will be going all out to register a hat trick for his owner.

Chestnut colt Puma Star, bay filly Silver Heart and Royal Prosper will be quite content to grab a place on the board. The promising colt Bach View has already won two races convincingly in-a-row.

The Rawalpindi Plate, class VII division IV will be the sixth and last race of the card to be contested over the sprinting distance of 1000 metres by ten acceptors, if there are no last- minute withdrawals.

In the fifth and supporting event, the thoroughbred bay filly Chow Counting looks a cut above in class vis-a-vis her 15 rivals. This filly from Shogun out-of-Count The Length, Show Counting was beaten in her previous outing on Sunday last, because of poor horsemanship by her apprentice rider, Qasim Shah. The filly took time to settle down and when she got into stride, she had already lost the race for want of a more skillful handling in the early part of the race.

The other four events, all to be contested over 1000 metres, seems competitive. The race-goers may see some close finishes. The first race will be held at 12.30 pm.
