New DCO takes charge

LAHORE, Dec 10: Tariq Sultan, a former administrator of the defunct metropolitan corporation of Lahore, took over as the District Coordination Officer of Lahore here on Tuesday.

Mr Sultan had recently been transferred from the NWFP to the Punjab and posted as an officer on special duty.

He replaced Maj Tariq Shafi Chak (retired) who proceeded on leave.

Mr Sultan was made the MCL administrator in 1996. He launched effective campaigns for the removal of encroachments and checking food adulterations during his over two years stay.
