PPP leader escapes murder attempt

SIALKOT, Dec 10: A PPP leader had a narrow escape when three men shot at his car near a Shakargarh village late on Monday night.

Three masked men intercepted the car of PPP’s Narowal district vice-president Chaudhry Nasrullah Gujjar near Phulwan village and opened fire, badly damaging the car. The PPP leader escaped unhurt.

The attackers fled away while firing in the air.

Mr Gujjar told police that he was returning to his native Suniyaal village from Shakargarh in his car (No LOK 840) with his brother Sadaqatullah, when the masked men opened fire.

MINE BLAST: A villager was seriously injured and his tractor was badly damaged in a landmine blast in Kotti Syed Mir village of Sialkot working boundary’s Chapar Sector on Tuesday.

According to official sources, Muhammad Sadiq was ploughing his fields when his tractor hit an anti-tank landmine, planted there. The landmine went off, injuring the farmer and badly damaging his tractor.

The condition of Sadiq was stated to be critical at the Sialkot CMH.
