KARACHI: 35 Haqiqi workers arrested


KARACHI, Dec 10: Police, accompanied by the Rangers, on Tuesday conducted raids in different parts of the city, including New Karachi, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Lines Area, Malir, Faisal Colony and Landhi, and arrested another 35 workers of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement.

A spokesman for the Haqiqi said police and personnel of other law- enforcement agencies raided the houses of Haqiqi workers and those of their relations and arrested more than 35 workers in different parts of the city and shifted them to undisclosed places.

“Law-enforcement agencies have arrested more than 1,100 workers and supporters of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement since Nov 19, when they launched an operation against the party,” he said.

He said police and the Rangers conducted raids on the houses of sector in charges of New Karachi, Mohammed Raza, and Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Kashif Mughal, and during the search, policemen misbehaved with women.—PPI
