PSF chief hails performance

ISLAMABAD, Dec 9: The president of the Pakistan Squash Federation, Air Chief Marshal Mushaf Ali Mir on Monday hailed the performance of the Pakistani players in the on-going World Open in Belgium.

A PSF press release said that Mushaf had praised Mansoor Zaman, world No 18 on making the third round of the tournament after beating world No. 16 Alex Gough 3-2.

Mushaf was particularly delighted with the performance of unseeded 20-year-old Farrukh Zaman, who in his first World Open lost to world No 2 Jonathan Power in the opening round. Farrukh has leapfrogged from 198 rank to 49 in the world in the past six months.

Shahid Zaman put up a satisfactory show losing in the second round to world No. 4 Stewart Bosswel.
