GILGIT, Dec 9: A deranged person, Khisrauo, 20, son of Issa Khan, committed suicide by shooting himself with a shotgun on Saturday in Aliabad, Hunza police said.

Police said it was the third incident of suicide in the valley in a week.

Last week, a domestic servant, Ghulam Rasool, son of Mohammad Hasan, resident of Yelbo in Skardu district, had hanged himself with a wooden beam outside his employers’ house in Karimabad.

Mir Ahmed, a driver, also took his life in Aliabad by shooting himself with a gun.

Police sources said a person, Shehzada, was injured in firing by some assailants during the Eid holidays in Nalter valley. Nomal police have arrested a relative of the injured, Shah Faqir, and his three sons, on the suspicion of attacking him. Sources said a domestic dispute had led to the attack.
