Delhi claims killing five Mujahideen

SRINAGAR, Dec 9: Indian troops claimed killing five Mujahideen in clashes in occupied Kashmir on Monday.

A police spokesman said a militant and a member of India’s Border Security Force (BSF) were killed in a fierce four-hour gunbattle in the woody village of Agrimore, Rajouri district.

Another BSF member was injured during the gunbattle, and his condition was critical, police said.

Indian troops killed another two militants in two encounters in the neighbouring district of Doda, police said.

They said two more militants were killed in firefights, but did not provide details.

TRUCE ENDS: The Lashkar-i-Taiba ended its four-day unilateral truce on Sunday evening.

The group had called for Dec 5-8 truce to enable Muslims to celebrate Eid. —AFP
