Kuwait rejects Saddam’s apology

Published December 9, 2002

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 8: Kuwait on Saturday rejected Iraqi President Saddam Hussain’s letter, addressed to the Kuwaiti people, and said the message was an attempt to create a rift between the Kuwaiti people and its leadership.

Kuwait’s Information Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al Sabah said the letter was a reminder of the political and media campaign Iraq used against Kuwait prior to its aggression of August 2, 1990.

The minister called on the Iraqi leader to abide by the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
