KARACHI, Dec 4: Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) is organizing the KCCA Inter-zonal cricket tournament from Dec 10 at National Stadium and other grounds of the city.

The tournament is the criterion of induction of new cricketers in the KCCA teams for Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

The Zonal teams of the seven Zones of Karachi will play each other on single league basis. Each team shall be allowed to bat for a maximum of 50 overs with no restriction on number of overs to be bowled by each bowler.

However to encourage pacemen each team will have to bowl the first ten overs with fast bowlers taking 12 steps. No bowler who has bowled as fast bowler will be allowed to revert to spin later in the innings.

The rules of KCCA Talent Hunt Program will apply in this tournament.

Three matches will be played on the opening day on Dec 10, KCCA Zone-II will meet Zone-III in the inaugural match at National Stadium.

In the other two matches slated on the opening day, Zone IV will meet Zone V at Quaid-e-Azam Park Pak Steel Ground while Zone-VI will meet Zone-VII at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium.

Those Zones who have not yet submitted their teams on the prescribed proforma at the KCCA office have been advised to do so immediately.—APP
