Inquiry finds arrested men innocent: Seven women’s rape

TOBA TEK SINGH, Dec 4: An inquiry into the rape of seven women of a poor family of Chak 343-JB found the four arrested accused innocent.

An official said here on Wednesday head of the family Khan Muhammad registered a false complaint against his son-in-law Nasir and his three friends.

Later, police arrested three other people Abdul Ghafoor alias Jannan resident of a Chak 464-JB (Jhang), Yousaf Ali and Khan Muhammad of Chak 342-JB and 430-JB respectively.

They confessed to raping the women during a docity on the night of Aug 4 along with their eight accomplices. They belonged to a gypsy tribe, he added.

They also confessed that they had made a gang and committed dacoities.

He said the eight accused have not yet been arrested.

PRISONERS RELEASED: The Toba district and sessions judge and judicial magistrate ordered on Wednesday release of 18 people involved in minor crimes.

During a visit to the Jhang jail, they accepted the personal surety bonds of the accused.
