BAJAUR, Dec 4: The Bajaur Agency administration on Wednesday released around 35 prisoners undergoing terms for different crimes.

Political Agent Pirzada Khan told Dawn that the prisoners had been released on the occasion of Eidul Fitr.

He said that as the prisoners were mostly involved in petty crimes, they were set free without any surety bond.

He said the step had been taken on directions from the provincial government.

The local administration had also commuted the term of other prisoners in the jail by two months, he said.

The official said the administration had also provided a suit, a pair of shoes and Rs300 to each inmates.
