PESHAWAR, Dec 3: The 13-member NWFP cabinet was allocated portfolios late Monday night. Chief minister Akram Khan Durrani decided to retain information, revenue, establishment and administration, works and home and tribal affairs with himself.

Senior minister Sirajul Haq, who had taken oath along with the chief minister on Saturday, was allocated environment, planning & development and finance.

Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam’s ministers allocated portfolio’s on Monday night are: Asif Iqbal (excise and taxation), Hafiz Akhtar Ali (irrigation and religious affairs, Haj and Auqaf), Maulana Fazl Ali (higher education, schools and literacy), Qari Mehmood (agriculture, live stock and cooperatives), Malik Zafar Azam (industries, law and parliamentary affairs, technical education and human rights) and Sardar Mohammad Idrees (local bodies and rural development).

Jamaat-i-Islami’s five ministers are: Hafiz Hashmat Ali (social welfare, Zakat and Usher), Fazal Rabbani (food), Hussain Ahmed (science and information technology), Inyatullah (health and population planning) and Raja Faisal Zaman (sports, culture and tourism).

Besides Speaker Bakht Jahan Khan, four ministers belong to old Malakand division.
