KARACHI, Dec 3: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will be launching two new events next year, according to a programme published in PCB Media Guide.

PCB Patron’s Cup One-Day National tournament will be played from Feb 26-March 20.

Eight top departments and association teams will be featuring in about three-week contest.

Teams will be drawn in two groups and top two will be making the semi finals.

The complete programme of the event and venues is yet to be finalized.

It was will be followed by a new first class event, Super League will be played from March 25-May.

Four top invitation teams will be taking part in double league championship.

Country’s premier Quaid-e-Azam Cricket (Grade-I) will start at various centres of the country from Dec 21, 2002.

Sixteen top departments and association teams will be taking part in the championship.

Quarterfinals of the championship will be held from Feb 1-4 at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, Sheikhupura Stadium, National Stadium Karachi and Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad.

The semifinals will be played Feb7-10 and five-day final will be contested from Feb 18-22. Venue for semi final and final be will be announced later.

Following are the groups of Quaid-i-Azam Trophy:

Group-I: NBP, Sargodha, Wapda, Services Industries, Lahore B and Faisalabad.

Group-II: ABL, Multan, Karachi Whites, Bahawalpur, PWD, and Dadu.

Group-III: HBL, Customs, Lahore Whites, PCB XI, Gujranwala, Sialkot.

Group-IV: PIA, KRL, Karachi Blues, Peshawar, ADBP and Rawalpindi.—APP
