OKARA, Dec 3: Defence Minister Rao Sikandar Iqbal has said that the grievances of the tenants of Okara military farms would be redressed soon.
He was speaking at a gathering of his supporters at a cotton factory on Sahiwal Road.
He said that a cadet college and a centre for information technology would be established in Okara.
A hospital and a telephone exchange would be constructed for the 19 villages of the military farms. Work on roads and water supply projects would start soon. A bypass road for Okara would also be constructed.
MNAs Syed Gulzar Subtain, Rao Ajmal Khan, PPP’s local leaders Khan Ghias Muhammad Khan, Rao Abdul Qayyum and others also spoke.
Earlier, Rao Sikandar was accorded a warm welcome by a large number of PPP workers at Karmanwala Sharif.
