KARACHI: Young man, boy killed

KARACHI, Dec 3: A young man was shot dead in SITE area on Tuesday.

Police said unidentified men tried to intercept a motorist near the Pak Colony police kiosk situated near Habib Bank.

When the young motorist, Faisal Saleem, did not stop his car (AB-7420), they opened fire on him and escaped.

Faisal was accompanied by his friend Jehangir, who took him to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. He was a resident Gol Market, Nazimabad, and was a sales manager in a local garment company.

Police had not ascertained the motive for the killing till our going to press.

Faisal’s friend lodged an FIR at the area police station.

FOUND MURDERED: A 12-year-old boy was found murdered in Defence Housing Authority on Tuesday.

Police said Waheed Masih was found murdered in a vacant plot near Ayaz Masjid in DHA Phase-II Commercial Extension in the morning.

The body was sent to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem.

Quoting doctors at the hospital, police said unknown men sodomized the boy and then killed him. Marks of injury were found on his chest and abdomen.

The post-mortem report had been reserved till the receipt of the histopathological and chemical report, police said.

The boy was a sweeper and had been missing since Monday morning when he went out to work. His mother, Uzma, lodged an FIR at the area police station about the killing of his son.

INJURED: Two alleged bandits were injured in an exchange of fire with police on Mai Kolachi bypass on Tuesday night.

Police said two bandits, identified as Rahman and Siraj, were fleeing after looting a passenger coach on Mai Kolachi bypass. A police patrolling party tried to intercept them upon which they opened fire at police. Police returned the fire injuring the two bandits.

Rahman was shifted to the JPMC and Siraj to Civil Hospital. They were stated to be in serious condition.
