Umer CC go down fighting

KARACHI, Nov 30: Dewan Mushtaq CC stormed into the final of A.O.Super Cup Ramzan tournament final with an exciting six runs victory over Omer CC in the semifinal played Friday night.

Dewan Mushtaq CC collected 128 for eight wickets in their 20 overs after electing to bat first. Opener Agha Sabir emerged the highest scorer with 26 including two boundaries. Waseem Naeem hit one boundary in his 24. Fahadullah made 20.

Spinners took six wicket out of eight to fall. Off-spinner Mukhtar Ahmed was the pick of Omer CC the bowling attack, with two for 19 in four overs. Left arm spinners Rashid Hanif (2-19) and Rizwan Qureshi (2-22) were other successful bowlers.

Omer CC in were restricted to 122 for nine in their 20 overs despite a fighting unbeaten 25 by Faisal Mirza with a sixer and two boundaries.

KESC IN SEMIS

Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) entered the semifinal of Karachi Gymkhana Callmate Ramzan tournament by handing out seven wicket defeat on Dewan Mushtaq CC (DMCC) at KG Ground Saturday.

DMCC opting to bat first mustered 132 for seven wickets in 25 overs. Lower order batsman Waqar Kundi top-scored with an unbeaten 39 off 40 ball with a huge six.

Left arm spinner Asif Ghori took two key wickets while pace duo of Iftikhar Ahmed and Tanvir Ahmed also grabbed two wickets each.

KESC romped home for the loss of just three wickets in 16 overs with Tariq Haroon smashing a rapidfire 32 off just 15 balls with five boundaries and a six.

Openers Tariq and Agha Sabir gave KESC flying start by putting on 63 runs in just six overs. Sabir made 28 with five hits to the boundary and Imran Javed cracked three 4s in his 27 not out. Amin-ur-Rehman contributed 25 a couple 4s and a six.

Asif Ghori and Tariq Haroon was jointly named Nike Man of the match.
