KARACHI, Nov 30: A three-goal burst by Naeem Ahmad enabled Hameed Khan XI overpower Aziz Khan XI 7-4 in the Ramazan Champions Trophy hockey tournament at UBL Sports Complex Saturday.

Naeem was the pick of the Hameed Khan XI attack as he found the target once before the breather and twice after re-start.

The exciting match began with a Mohammad Ali goal from Hameed Khan XI in the 6th minute which was equalised two minutes later by Ahsan Riaz.

The winners surged 3-1 ahead when they slammed home two goals with Naeem converting a short corner in the 14th minute and Adeel Hussain scoring a field goal two minutes later.

Undaunted, Aziz Khan XI again reduced the margin through Abrar Ahmad in the 17th minute only to see their rivals going further ahead when Ali converted a penalty corner the next minute.

Refusing to surrender, Aziz Khan XI got their acts together and fired home the third through Asghar Hussain seconds before the halftime whistle.

Hameed Khan XI, however, reigned supreme in the second half as they pumped in three consecutive goals to make it 7-3. Naeem started the damage with a 40th-minute effort, Faheem Khan struck three minutes later, while Naeem got his third in the 48th minute.

Still trying to overcome their plucky opposition, Aziz Khan XI, as a last-gasp effort, scored when Shahid found the cage in the 53rd minute.
