Squash squad leaves for Chennai

LAHORE, Nov 29: Led by Khayal Muhammad a six-member Pakistan team left Friday for Chennai, India to particiapte in the 12th Junior World Squash Championship scheduled for Dec 3 to 14.

Besides Khayal, the other members of the team are Arshad Iqbal Burki, Safeer Khan and Majid Khan (for team event) Shahnawaz and Khalid Atlas (for individual event).

The individual event will be held from Dec 3 to 8 and the team event from Dec 9 to 14.

Rehmat Khan as coach-cum-manager, Mohammad Ayaz as assistant coach and Sardar Naveed as media manager are accompanying the team.

In a brief chat, Rahmat said that the team was quite capable of winning the team event of the competition. All players were fit and fully prepared to deliver the goods, he added.

Rahmat said that the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) had not faced any problems whtsoever, in obtaining Indian visas for the squad as the Indian High Commission in Islamabad extended full cooperation in the matter.
