SAHIWAL, Nov 29: A Naib Nazim and his over a dozen accomplices subjected a shopkeeper to violence and demolished his shop on Friday in Chak 58/12-L.

Muhammad Akram had disallowed Naib Nazim Haji Inam Rasool for making free calls from his shop-cum-PCO. This enraged the Naib Nazim who would often make free calls from his franchized PCO. Haji Rasool along with village headman Sibghatullah, Arshad, Farhan, Zeeshan, Akram, Aslam, Mushtaq, Ishtiaq and others came to his shop to teach Akram a ‘lesson’.

They allegedly manhandled and subjected Akram to violence and took away valuables, including the company’s telephone set worth Rs30,000, from the shop. They also demolished the structure on the allegation that the shop was built ‘illegally’.

Ghaziabad police have registered a case with no arrest.

MINOR CRIMES: On the orders of the Punjab governor, 131 accused involved in minor crimes will be released from the Central Jail on the eve of Eidul Fitr.

Their release is expected within 24 hours.
