Gulfaraz XI on goal spree

KARACHI, Nov 28: A rampaging Gulfaraz XI bulldozed Aziz Khan XI 11-0 in the Ramazan Champions Trophy hockey tournament at UBL Sports Complex Thursday.

The winners hammered eight goals before the lemon time.

The one-sided encounter commenced with a goal from former international Arif Bhopali with the game just two minutes old. Imran got the second in the 12th minute and slammed his second three minutes later.

Gulfaraz XI continued their goal-spree, scoring the remaining five first half goals with a two-minute space between each goal.

Anis sounded the board in the 18th minute, Arif came into action two minutes later. Asif Khan found the cage in the 22nd minute and then increased the lead with another in the 24th minute, while Imran poached the eighth in the 26th minute.

Yet there was no respite for shocked Aziz Khan XI as their rivals continued to make deep inroads and completed the tally after the change of ends. Alay Hasan made his contribution with a ninth goal he scored in the 34th minute.

Anis fired home the tenth two minutes later only to see Kashif Bhopali chipping in with the 42nd-minute goal that sealed the fate of the match.
