KARACHI: Nazim orders payment of salaries before Eid
KARACHI, Nov 28: Karachi Nazim Naimatullah Khan has directed that employees of the city government and towns should be paid salaries before Eid.
He directed the EDO for finance to arrange the payment of salaries to the officials and employees of all the departments of union councils, towns and city government.
He said it should be ensured that no employee was left without payment of his salary regardless of the financial position of the city government.
ISLAMIC STATE: The Karachi Nazim has said the Muslims of South Asia had a dream of an Islamic Welfare State but unfortunately that dream remains unfulfilled even after 55 years.
He was speaking as the chief guest at awards, certificates and shields distribution among the school boys and girls winning top three positions in an inter-town ‘Husn-i-Qirat and Naat Competition’ held at Al-Markaz Al-Islami in Federal B. Area.
The Nazim said the city government had allocated funds for the promotion of Quranic education and efforts would be made to make this city a model of an Islamic state.
He said Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) had presented Madina Munawwara before the world as a city Islamic state.
Naimatullah Khan told the boys and girls that the Quran is a sacred book and its recitation and even looking at it is ‘sawab’.
He said the recitation is a superior art of Qirat. It captures the hearts and to listen to it earns ‘sawab’ to the listeners.
Similarly, he said, to write, recite and listen to Naat-i-Rasool is also ‘sawab’ and is a source of association with the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).
In the programme, chalked out in a very short time, 72 boys and girl students took part and the Nazim declared that such programmes would also be organized next year. He congratulated the participants of the programme.
The programme was organized by the community development department of the city government.—APP
