MMA for removal of LFO

ISLAMABAD, Nov 27: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) will initiate a campaign for elimination of Legal Framework Order (LFO) and restoration of democracy in true sense.

This was stated by the MMA MNA from Islamabad, Mian Mohammad Aslam, while talking to a gathering of local party leaders here on Wednesday.

“We are confident that the majority of all the political parties will endorse us for the supremacy of democracy,” the MMA leader said.

Democracy has been restored partially, as several portions of the Constitution stand abrogated, he added.

Mian Aslam said taking into consideration the American policies, his party opposed the inimical US policies.

Referring to the nature of Pakistan’s relationship with North Korea, he said objections raised by the US were meaningless.

“The US has no right to object to our foreign, commercial and defence policies.”

In the context of threats posed by the US in reference to North Korea, great restiveness prevails among Pakistani people, he added. Mian Aslam said people were keen to get rid of the ascendancy of the US and “it is on that account that our alliance secured majority only in two provinces”.

The MMA will only oppose those policies which are against the democracy, he added.

The MNA said immediately after formation of the civilian government, the prices of liquid gas went up by 10 per cent and the tariff of electricity went up by 9.7 per cent.

The increase in power tariff will also affect the prices of other items, he added.

Mian Aslam demanded cut in the prices of utility bills so that the people might experience difference in the previous and present government.
