TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 27: Two witnesses informed inquiry officer DSP Khan Mohammad Baluch on Wednesday that Faisalabad Government College University lecturer Chaudhry Mohammad Shabbir had indeed been tortured and harassed by Nawan Lahore police.

The witnesses, Mohammad Riaz and Mohammad Rizwan, confirmed the lecturer’s statement and apprised the inquiry officer that the family had been victimised to “please” its influential opponents at Chak 537/GB.

The policemen have denied the charges against them.

The DSP directed the police officials concerned to submit the case file, saying that he would report to the district police officer after going through the file.
