Workers demand salary

BADIN, Nov 27: The mechanics of Badin-Mirpurkhas Lower Sindh Mechanical Division protested for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday against the non-payment of salaries to 80 employees since the last five months.

Talking to newsmen, the employees’ union representatives — Manzoor Rana, Abdullah Shah, Saleem, Javed Pathan, and Mir Mohammad Chandio — blamed the executive engineer, mechanical division, for having failed to arrange for the payment of their salaries.

They said they would not be able to celebrate Eidul Fitr as they were pennyless.

They lamented over the disdainful attitude of their bosses who never bothered to heed their grievances.

XEN: When this correspondent contacted the executive engineer, Mechanical Division, Badin-Mirpurkhas, Zameer Hussain, he said that all the 80 employees protesting against the non-payment of their salaries were surplus LBOD staff who had been merged with the Mechanical Division eight months ago.
