One dies of suffocation

QUETTA, Nov 24: A man died of suffocation and another fell unconscious in cantonment colony, here on Saturday.

According to police, Zulfiqar Ahmed and Zia-ul-Abidin after sehri had slept in a room without switching off the gas heater owing to severe cold here on Friday night.

Continuous gas burning created a lack of oxygen in the room and both the man fell unconscious while sleeping. When they did not come out of their room till late afternoon, other members of the house informed the police.

When the police broke open the door of the room, they were unconscious.

They were rushed to civil hospital for treatment, but later Zia-Ul-Abidin passed away. Zulfiqar is still stated to be unconscious.

The body of Zia was handed over to the relatives after completing formalities.

According to the family sources, Zia-ul-Abidin had reached Quetta the other day from Rawalpindi to meet Zulfiqar.

His body would be sent to Rawalpindi.
