PFF meeting after Eid

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, Nov 23: The executive committee meeting of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) will be held after Eid.

The most important point to be discussed will be the foreign coaches issue. The PFF is contemplating releasing the two coaches, John Layton and Jozef Herel, after the suspension of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Aid-26 programme.

Both the coaches have been provided by the AFC. PFF, however, has been given an option to retain the coaches by utilising the US$1m FIFA grant. Their contracts expire in December.

PFF will also chalk out future activity of the seniors and juniors. Pakistan will take part in the SAFF Gold Cup in Bangladesh from Jan 10 to 14, Asia Cup and 2004 Olympics qualifying round in March and April next year.

The main round of Asia Cup will be organized in China.

A camp to prepare the team for the SAFF Gold Cup starts from Dec 10. The senior team will also feature in the ninth SAF Games in Islamabad from March 29 to April 7.

The AFC has been pressing the PFF hard to initiate the league which the PFF should have started a year ago.
