Gastroenteritis death toll rises to 29

THATTA, Nov 23: Four more gastroenteritis patients have died thus raising the death toll to 29 since the outbreak of the disease in the coastal taluka of Shah Bunder 15 days ago.

Thirty more patients were brought to the dispensaries in the Chuhar Jamali town and 15 others at dispensaries in the Chuch Jahan Khan town.

The deceased have been identified as Maryam, resident of Haji Allah Warayo Bhatti village, Sarti, Thaheem of Chuch Jahan Khan, Motani Walasio and Sami Mallah of Mehar Mohalla Chuhar Jamali.

In the meantime, it was learnt that the number of patients has risen to 400 in the far-flung areas during a short time and the situation would get out control if adequate measures were not taken immediately.
