PAs to meet next week
ISLAMABAD, Nov 23: The government has announced the schedule of election of Speakers, Deputy Speakers and Leaders of the House of the four provincial assemblies.
President Gen Pervez Musharraf has already summoned the inaugural sessions of all the four provincial assemblies which will be held next week.
The Punjab and NWFP assemblies will meet on Monday while the Balochistan and Sindh assemblies will meet on Thursday.
According to the schedule, the newly-elected members of Punjab and NWFP assemblies on the first day of the first session, on Monday will take oath in their respective assemblies.
Nomination papers for the office of speakers and deputy speakers of these two assemblies will be filed on Nov 26 and election for the two offices will be held next day.
Nomination papers for the office of the Leaders of the House of the Punjab and NWFP assemblies will be filed on Nov 28 and voting for ascertainment of these assemblies will be held the next day.—APP
