MANSEHRA, Nov 23: The JUI-S has asked the JI and JUI-F not to ignore the smaller components of the MMA while discussing the distribution of the portfolios in the future NWFP cabinet.
Maulana Faqir Mohammed Hazarvi, provincial deputy general secretary of the JUI-S, in a statement on Saturday said that the JUI-F and the JI had been holding joint meetings to discuss the future strategy and were ignoring the other component parties of the MMA. Such attitude would leave a negative impact on the future of the alliance, he warned.
Mr Hazarvi said that all the six parties of the religio- political alliance were entitled to the portfolios in the future NWFP cabinet, and asked the JUI-F and JI leadership to act in accordance with the MMA manifesto.
A joint meeting of the JUI-S, JUP, JI and the Jamiat-i-Ahle Hadith on Friday in Batagram also criticized the policies of the leadership of the JUI-F and said it had neglected the rights of the smaller component parties of the MMA.
The meeting, presided over by Maulana Abdul Hakeem Mujahid, was also attended by JUI-S leaders Allama Abdul Ghafoor Haqqani, Mufti Saifullah, Maulana Attaur Rehman, Maulana Iqbal Shah, Maulana Abdur Rehman and Maulana Pir Fazal-i-Hakeem, Shams Rehman of JI, Maulana Mohammed Ayaz of the JUP and Faizur Rehman of the Jamiat-i-Ahle Hadith
They alleged that the JUI-F leadership had adopted a biased policy towards the smaller parties of the alliance and had brought the MMA to the brink of total collapse.
They warned that if the JUI-F did not give up such attitude, the MMA would receive a major set-back in the near future.
