HYDERABAD, Nov 23: Hundreds of villagers staged a demonstration and blocked the Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas Road for several hours to protest against the closure of the main pathway in Tando Jam.

The villagers said the vice chancellor, Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam, Dr Basheer Ahmad Chandio, had blocked the pathway connecting eight villages of Tando Jam.

Students and employees of the university also joined the villagers and raised slogans against the vice chancellor and a retired commander, Ali Murad Goraho, who is holding a key post in the university.

They also burnt tyres on the road.

DPO A. D. Khawaja rushed to the spot and held negotiations with a delegation of the villagers.
