PESHAWAR: Japan eases visa rules for traders

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Nov 23: The Japanese embassy has exempted the Pakistani traders from the condition of submitting three guarantees to obtain a visa.

Apprising a group of Peshawar traders about this development, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Sarwar Mohmand said the Japanese embassy had assured that visas to traders would now be granted without any delay.

He said the restriction was causing immense trouble to the trade and business circles, says a press release. “They will not have to wait for long if they have visited Japan for at least five times,” said the SCCI president.

The traders who have not violated the immigration rules and have not overstayed in Japan, will be granted visas without any hassle.

The Pakistani traders will not be asked for any guarantee but they will be required to show the record of their imports. The traders who have visited Europe, America and Australia at least once and traded successfully, will also be granted visas.

The SCCI president said that very soon these rules and regulations would be legalized and traders would have no problems in obtaining visas to Japan.
