88 profiteers fined

ISLAMABAD, Nov 22: As many as 88 shopkeepers were fined for over- charging and not displaying the rate lists prominently here in the different markets.

The special inspection teams, which were formed to check price hike in the federal capital during the holy month of Ramazan, conducted routine and surprise checks upto the 15th of Ramazan. A spokesman for the City Sadar Magistrate, Ajmal Bukhari, said these 88 shopkeepers were fined Rs20,000.

Meanwhile, the assistant commissioner (city) and the district food controller carried out a surprise check of the Sasta Bazaar set up in Jinnah Super Market, G-7 and Aabpara on Friday.—Staff Reporter
